The Punta Begoña gallery in Getxo shows its charm to international highly-qualified researchers and professionals of the Relocation service

Last Friday, 25 November, an international group made up of 15 highly-qualified researchers and professionals together with their families coming from several countries such as Albania, Guatemala, India, Iran, Italy, Japan,  the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the Spanish state had the opportunity to visit the Punta Begoña gallery, which forms part of the cultural heritage of Bizkaia.

First, they visited the gallery, adapted to the coastal geography. It was designed and built by Ricardo Bastida in 1919. Its main task was to continue and finish off the containment and defence wall of the cliff where the estate of the Atxekolandeta family lies and where the mansion of the Echevarrieta family used to stand. It was an English-style home designed by the architect Gregorio Ibarreche in 1910 but it is no longer there. The owner provided the gallery with various rooms and corridors devised as a place for recreation.

Once inside, the local guide explained the enhancement plan, led by Getxo town council and the University of the Basque Country, UPV/EHU. At the end of the visit they had a snack in the Leisure Harbour of the town.

Thus, the aim of the Relocation service of bizkaia talent was fulfilled once more, that is, to foster personal and professional relationships among the international Talent committed to our Territory.
