Bilbao, the Spanish State’s best city to live in according to National Geographic

The prestigious international magazine National Geographic, which specialises in tourism, leisure and travel, has drawn up a ranking of the top ten cities in the Spanish State in terms of living, and has placed Bilbao in its top spot.
Featuring among the most outstanding aspects of the city according to the publication are the wide range of leisure activities on offer, its architectural variety, its exquisite gastronomy and its historical legacy.
The article makes special reference to some of the city’s most emblematic locations, such as the Guggenheim Museum, the Fine Arts Museum, the Old Quarter, Doña Casilda Park, the river, Arriaga Theatre and La Ribera Market. It also bestows great praise on the public transport system which it describes as both efficient and accessible.
