  • 182 first-year students will participate over the next four years in this initiative which is designed to develop local talent.

On the 10th April Bizkaia Talent carried out the presentation event of the professional skills programme Talentia Skills in the Perrera building in Bilbao. This initiative whose main objective is to develop local talent and prepare it for the current labour market was thus set in motion.

182 first-year university students from a range of academic disciplines will take part in this programme which will last for four years, and which will provide them the opportunity to acquire highly prized transversal skills, such as emotional intelligence, teamwork, effective communication and leadership.

During the course of the Talentia Skills programme the talented youngsters will be given access to a wide range of training activities, including specialised workshops, visits to cutting-edge companies in their sector and personalised coaching sessions, amongst others. Furthermore, networking and interaction with outstanding professionals will be fostered, with a view to providing the participants with an integral vision of the current labour market panorama and future development opportunities.

Hosting the presentation event were Mr Ivan Jimenez, the Managing Director of Bizkaia Talent; Ms Roberta Vicente, the Talentia Skills coordinator and the person in charge of the junior talent development service at Bizkaia Talent; Ms Idoia Postigo, the General Manager of Bilbao Metropoli-30; Ms Amaia Garay, Manager of the Civil Engineers Association of the Basque Country; and Mr Iñigo Luzarraga, ex-participant of the programme. The latter deserves a special mention as he shared his experience of the programme with the participants, stressing its importance for companies when it comes to contracting junior talent.
