Bizkaia Talent collaborates with the Elhuyar Foundations’s Zientzia Azoka 2024 and makes four grant awards

  • Over the course of four days 800 youngsters from 70 schools have presented 200 research projects.

From the 22nd May Bilbao hosted the science fair of the Elhuyar Foundation, Elhuyar Zientzia Azoka 2024, the aim of which is to foster the scientific vocation of youngsters and promote a culture of science throughout society. Over a four-day period, youngsters of between 12 and 18 years of age presented a total of 200 STEAM projects which had been produced over the course of the academic year: 48 of these were sixth-form projects and 151 were compulsory secondary education projects. A total of 800 school pupils took part in this most recent edition, not only from schools in the Basque Country, but also winners from other fairs held at both the national and international level.

Bizkaia Talent, which has a collaboration agreement with Elhuyar, was present at the opening ceremony of the fair and awarded four grants to participate in Talentia Skills programme. This programme will help the beneficiaries to develop their transversal skills, it will guide them throughout their training phase, and it will introduce them to the difference reference companies and sectors in the Basque Country.

13 editions, 3000 pupils and 1000 projects
Since the first edition in 2013, 13 editions of the Elhuyar Zientzia Azoka have been held, in which nearly 3,000 youngsters of between 12 and 18 years have participated, presenting around 1,000 research and technology projects.
