bizkaia:talent will participate in the eighth edition of Naturejobs Career Expo representing the Basque organizations which need to hire highly qualified staff.
The Naturejobs Career Expo, which will take place in London on 19 September 2014, in the Business Design Centre of London, is the most important scientific job fair held in the United Kingdom aimed at graduates, PhD students and Post-docs in Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Mathematics and Medicine as well as young university students who are seeking a change of career. This fair will bring together 63 exhibitors from Germany, France, Holland, Scotland, Scandinavia, Switzerland, Poland, United Kingdom, Belgium, Italy, Qatar, Singapore…
The Fair aims at promoting the United Kingdom and Europe as a place to pursue a professional career within the sphere of science, either in industrial research, in research organizations or at University. Thus, this event is a meeting point for the best opportunities from the best public, private, national and international organizations.
bizkaia:talent will have a stand of our own where we intend to deal with the enquiries and requests of researchers interested in our vacancies and in working in our Historical Territory.
bizkaia:talent will attend this international meeting with the aim of locating and engaging professionals and researchers highly qualified in areas which are strategic for our Historical Territory, with special emphasis on the Basque professionals who live in the area of London and on promoting and informing about the highly qualified employment opportunities offered by our Territory.
In this regard, bizkaia:talent will represent various Basque organizations (CIC energiGUNE, CIC bioGUNE, Biophysics Foundation, Gestamp, Achucarro (Basque Center for Neuroscience), Bcam (Basque Center for Applied Mathematics), BC3 (Basque Center for Climate Change), so as to engage and attract top professionals in the area of science and technology.
The professionals who are sought by the organizations from Bizkaia-Basque Country according to their qualifications are:
- PhD in Chemistry, Physics or related fields (Expertise in the design, optimization and assembly of battery and supercapacitor cells)
- PhD in Engineering or related fields (Expertise in the design, optimization, construction and start-up of laboratory scale thermal energy storage facilities)
- PhD in Solid-state chemistry, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics or related fields (Expertise in the design and synthesis of polymeric electrolytes).
- Ms Physics or Chemistry. (Electron microscopy and related spectroscopy techniques applied to electrochemistry for Batteries and Supercaps).
- The opportunity to complete the Research Master project or the PhD Thesis on the fields of electrochemical and thermal energy storage.
- Master degree in life sciences.

And while in London, bizkaia:talent will meet highly qualified professionals living in the area of London on Saturday, 20 September 2014, during the lunch which will take place at the Networking Conference organized for that day in London, so as to know and establish a first contact and to briefly present them some of the services and programmes offered by bizkaia:talent.
Evaluation of the Fair 2013
The fair of 2013 brought together 66 exhibitors from countries such as Germany, France, Holland, Scandinavia, Switzerland, Poland, United Kingdom, Belgium, Italy, Qatar or Singapore and was attended by more than 1,200 people of 95 different nationalities. It is worth mentioning that 45% of the participants are PhDs and although 77% are working in the academic world at present, nearly half of the researchers would be interested in developing professionally within the industrial sector.
