Bizkaia Talent, expert trainer in the EURAXESS network in Bulgaria
- The Basque organisation shares its expertise in career development management for research workers
The TOP IV Net Wide Train-the-trainer programme event was held from the 6th to the 8th November in Borovets (Bulgaria), and it was attended by over eighty members of the EURAXESS network who were interested in extending and improving their services. The programme consisted of twelve expert-led workshops where the participants were able to share experiences and good practice.
Ms Carmen Mendez of Bizkaia Talent, an expert in regional talent management, delivered a workshop experience entitled “Leaving Academia and Career Paths Beyond the University”. Ms Mendez is in charge of the Relocation service & Be Basque Dual Career and on this occasion she trained a group of twenty participants from countries such as Finland, Israel, Italy, Sweden, Macedonia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Moldavia, Greece, Belgium, Spain, Poland, the United Kingdom and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Ms Mendez emphasised the importance of networking and shared with the participants the methods which the Basque association uses to attract qualified research talent to organisations in the Basque Country by means of the numerous conferences and meetings which it organises both in Europe and around the world.
She also spoke about the services which Bizkaia Talent offers to promote professional career progress, such as intermediation, or tools such as the Career Development Centre which features personalised digital counselling and job offers adapted to the profile of the individual.
EURAXESS: mobility and career development
EURAXESS is an initiative of the European Commission (EC) which promotes mobility and professional career development for research workers with the aim of making Europe a leader in terms of scientific excellence. Bizkaia Talent is an active member of the network and acts as its local centre in Bizkaia.
