    Buscamos a una persona con experiencia en I+D en este ámbito para responsabilizarse del desarrollo e implementación de software en el ámbito de la automatización y/o sistemas robóticos avanzados, trabajando principalmente (pero no sólo) en proyectos de manipulación mediante robots, guiado por visión, comunicación con máquinas, monitorización de sistemas, etc. La persona que se incorpore tendrá un papel relevante en la identificación de nuevas oportunidades de negocio, de necesidades de nuestros clientes, en la generación de propuestas europeas, así como en la definición de soluciones tecnológicas y la elaboración de ofertas, en el ámbito de automatización y robótica para fabricación avanzada.

    ¿Qué buscamos?



    Una persona autónoma y resolutiva, con espíritu innovador y ganas de desarrollar soluciones para la automatización y robótica avanzada, en el ámbito de las aplicaciones industriales: integrando robots (manipulación, visión, mecatrónica, tiempo real) y sistemas de automatización, monitorizando procesos y máquinas, llegando a desplegar soluciones hasta su validación en entornos industriales. Es crítica la experiencia en el desarrollo de sistemas de comunicación con máquina. Una persona con altas capacidades de comunicación (oral y escrita) y  capaz de trabajar en equipo. Dicha capacidad de trabajar en equipo es clave, ya que para lograr una solución funcional exitosa es fundamental la cooperación con el resto de personas del equipo.




    Requisites

    • Titulación: Ingeniería informática Industrial, electrónica, en automatización, o similar.

    • Experiencia: más de 5 años en I+D relacionado con desarrollo de SW, preferentemente en relación con la  Automatización y/o Robótica, y monitorización de máquinas y procesos.

    • Idiomas: inglés y castellano fluido.

    • Qualifications: BsC in Electronics, automatic, telecommunications or similar Engineering. MsC would be taken into account, preferably in control.

    • Minimum experience: we are looking for a professional with proven experience in the development of electric machines control. Knowledge of implementation on FPGA will be valued. Experience in regulations applied to the sector (IEC-SIL, ISO-ASIL) will be valued positively. Modelling and simulation of power plants where inverters to be developed get integrated in such way that all performance requirements are validated will be considered positively.

    • Experience of SW development on DSP TI, Freescale and similar platforms.
    • Knowledge of modelling and simulation of electrical machines and power inverters.

    The DIGIMAN 4.0 (DIGItal MANufacturing Technologies for Zero-defect Industry 4.0 Production) Project aims, within the framework of the MSCA-ITN-2018 initiative, at the provision of world excellent research training to 15 ESRs (Early Stage Researchers) in the field of digital manufacturing technologies for Industry 4.0.

     

     

    This research training will focus on three main aspects: 1) Innovative technological solutions for high quality, high throughput and high precision production; 2) Cutting edge multi-disciplinary training in different domains and 3) Validation of different digital manufacturing technologies by integration into process chains for the production of advanced components in several sectors.

     

     

    Core Training and research

     

     

    The Job offered by IK4-TEKNIKER is framed in the competitive market demands of products with zero defects in the ferromagnetic parts production. Industrial companies try to reduce those defects through the complete manufacturing process, but nevertheless customers’ requirements sometimes demand the introduction of 100% inspection of the final product.

     

     

    In the case of ferromagnetic parts production, magnetic particle inspection allows detecting some surface and near-surface defects which are not otherwise visible to the eye. The identification of these defects is done by qualified operators by visual inspection of the parts once the particles are applied.

     

     

    The objective of the ESR will be to investigate and develop a method for automatic defect identification in ferromagnetic parts based on magnetic particles technique. The proposed approach is to combine basic image analysis with state-of-the-art deep learning techniques in order to improve the detection accuracy.

     

     

    The proposed project will be focused on carrying out research in the following topics, to obtain surface defect detection algorithms that will outperform the actual solutions:

     

     

    • Creation of datasets of typical errors present in industry (scratches over metallic parts, breakages, etc).
    • Use of machine vision algorithms to identify basic defects
    • Benchmarking of network architectures especially suitable for industrial problems.
    • Use of transfer learning techniques to adapt existing CNN architectures to industrial applications.
    • Performance testing and real time implementation tasks.

    Planned secondments:

     

     

    The development of the training process includes a period of time of to be spent in the company ERREKA Fastening (Spain). E.F. is a company devoted to providing high added value solutions for bolted joints used in critical applications in several sectors, such as oil, chemical and wind-power. They want to assess the quality of 100% of their production of forged bolts and studs and will facilitate the use of a robotized cell including bin-picking to feed a Magnaflux station, and samples to develop and test the algorithms.

     

     

    Doctoral Training

     

     

    The selected ESR will enroll in a Doctoral programme leading to the award of a doctoral degree by the University of Zaragoza (Spain).

EMAKIKER grant should enable female researchers to acquire independence and scientific autonomy and to sharpen their profile for the next career step.     An EMAKIKER grant comprises the grantee's salary and project funds for a duration of up to 5 years and the offer of a mentoring network.     Requisites

    EMAKIKER applicants meet the following requirements:

    • They have a doctorate (PhD) or an equivalent qualification with experience in polymer science.

    • They have acquired at least two years' research experience after their doctorate in an international institution.

    • They submit their application between two and six years after obtaining their doctoral degree or equivalent qualification. The relevant date is that of the examination or PhD defense and justified exceptions will be considered.

    POLYMAT intends to award 1-2 grants each year to excellent women researchers.

    Qualification requirements: PhD in Chemical or Materials engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or Engineering related field with experience in:

    • Knowledge on the preparation of electrolyte component using ceramic and/or ceramic-polymer composite compounds. 

    • Processing of ceramic and/or polymeric compounds with easily scalable techniques.

    • Electrochemical characterization of electrolytes and batteries by cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic charge-discharge tests and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements. 

    • Characterization of materials and interfaces using structural and physicochemical analysis techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), electron microscopy (SEM), FTIR and Raman spectroscopy.

    Selected candidates will apply the newest technologies in Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in industrial sectors, especially in Advanced Manufacturing and Industrial Process/Product control.

They should be interested in developing innovative solutions to challenging industrial problems based in new technological advances, but also in the research aspects and the and publication of the results in the form of scientific publications and/or patents. They should demonstrate a strong interestin understanding the needs of companies and institutions in these fields, developing joint projects with the industry and the academia. En este contexto, buscamos un Responsable de Desarrollo SW de Módulos y Servicios para Despliegue de Tecnologías del Lenguaje. Sus tareas serán:


    • Con base en las librerías y activos tecnológicos ya disponibles, coordinar ydesarrollar módulos y servicios de software que se centren en el Despliegue,la Robustez, la Escalabilidad y la Facilidad de uso para múltiples usuarios. Ej: Ingesta de datos, herramientas de post-edición, interfaces con otros sistemas de información, abstracción, automatización y virtualización (ej. Docker), securización, aspectos de User Experience/User Interface(UI/UX), diseño y desarrollo de arquitecturas específicas (cloud-based, servidores dedicados, etc.), herramientas de estadísticas y monitorización de uso, módulos de apoyo a la gestión de usuarios, módulos de filtrado e incorporación de nuevos corpus, protección de copias, módulos de instalación, automatización de pruebas de estabilidad y robustez de SW, módulos multiplataforma, etc.

    • Interactuar frecuentemente con diversos socios y clientes con el fin de solucionar problemas e identificar oportunidades de mejora con base en el uso de dichas herramientas.     Requisites

    El perfil buscado es el siguiente:


    • Ingeniería Informática o perfil afín, preferiblemente con Master, con experiencia mínima de 5 años en labores similares de desarrollo de SW (incluyendo productización y mantenimiento) e interacción con usuarios. No es necesario que dicha experiencia sea específicamente en el campo de soluciones SW para lenguaje, aunque se valorará positivamente.     Selected candidates will contribute in project development and in applied research publications in digital security domain.

Their products are developed and manufactured entirely in Europe. Their facilities have a useful area of more than 24,000 m2, divided among laboratories, offices and production areas. CEGASA has its own design laboratories, for testing and safety approval, with a dedicated R&D&i team, in addition to a team of professionals with more than 20 years of experience in the areas of cell formulation and construction, design of battery packs, control electronics and BMS, and power electronics.

    Main functions
    CIC energiGUNE (CICe) offers the opportunity to complete an industrial PhD in the field of Electrochemical Energy Storage in partnership with the Basque company CEGASA. The offer is aimed at motivated students who have good academic records and are ready to carry out a challenging and exciting 3-year applied research project in the field of materials science and electrochemistry.

    The PhD project offered consists in understanding the different steps of the production process of an inorganic material employed in commercial batteries. The work will involve (i) the identification and rationalization of the different parameter of the synthesis process at the industrial scale; (ii) the thorough characterization of the materials produced at the production plant from both structural and electrochemical point of views; and (iii) the demonstration at lab scale of possible improvements that could be implemented in the production process.
    To carry out his/her PhD project, the trainee will count on the complementary experience of two experienced teams: on the one hand, he/she will incorporate CICe’s Solid-State Electroactive Materials group gathering talented and dynamic researchers, who have expertise in synthesis of inorganic materials, electrochemical characterizations and advanced structural characterizations, and on the other hand, he/she will join the R&D team of CEGASA, which works in close collaboration with the production plant.


    Requisites
    The candidate will preferably have a degree or be finishing a Master degree (or equivalent) with major in Materials Engineering Materials Sciences, Inorganic Chemistry, Electrochemistry or other scientific discipline in a related field. Good academic records are required.
    He/she should be a good team player who can collaborate with other scientists but also with the operators of the production plant. This highly motivated person, interested in investigation and innovation applied to an industrial challenge, will be incorporated to a multidisciplinary team. Therefore, he/she should demonstrate strong capabilities to organize and be able to work independently in order to move the project forwards, achieve deadlines and project targets by himself/herself.
    Good knowledge (reading, speaking and writing) of English and Spanish is required. He/she should be able to commute within the Basque Country between CIC energiGUNE (Miñano) and CEGASA (Oñati).

    Main functions

    CIC energiGUNE is looking for an experienced Post-doctoral Researcher to incorporate in the group of Solid state chemical reactions in the thermal energy storage (TES) area.

    The research will be focused on the study of existing and novel chemical reactions and thermochemical cycles for thermal energy storage and fuel production (initial focus on hydrogen production). The final objective of the research is the development of advanced materials and systems that can be implemented in a real application (TES and fuel production in solar power plants and Industrial environment). 

     

     

    The research work will include the identification and selection of promising materials and thermochemical cycles (two-steps and multi-steps), the synthesis of tailor made materials (e.g. mixed oxides), the study of the performances when subjected to repetitive cycles involving different reactions steps (reduction, hydration) and the full thermophysical characterization. The systems studied will also be tested in specially designed laboratory scale prototypes (CIC energiGUNE facilities) to determine the reactivity at a more relevant scale (grams). The candidate will have the chance to work in a multidisciplinary environment composed by Chemists, Physicists and Engineers having the possibility to extend his/her knowledge approaching the research under different points of view. 

     

     

     Job functions:

     

     


    • Development and identification of materials (e.g. tailor made metal oxides) and thermochemical cycles for thermal energy storage and fuel production.

    • In depth experimental characterization and behavioural understanding of such materials.

    • Contribution to the demonstration and piloting activities as well as to scaling up of developed systems.

    • Collaboration in project proposal writing to obtain funding from institutions and industrial sources.

    • Supervise graduate/master students.

    Requisites
    • We are searching for a highly motivated and independent researcher with a Master degree in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or other related topics. Students who expect to obtain their Master degree before September 2019 can also apply.

    • Good knowledge in quantum mechanics and statistical mechanics is expected and interest in writing computer code (e.g., Python) and shell scripts is an asset.

    • Experience with interatomic potentials for molecular dynamics simulations is desirable, but not essential

    • Experience with density functional theory methods, such as electronic structure calculations using VASP, Quantum Espresso, FHI-aims and/or similar packages is an advantage.

    • Basic experience with machine learning algorithms and/or network science is an advantage.

    • The candidate should also be able to work independently and as part of a highly ambitious research team, as well as have very good command of English.

    • He/she should be a good team player who can collaborate with other scientists. Highly motivated person an interested in investigation. She/he will be incorporated to a multidisciplinary team.

    Benefits

    The project involves the development and application of density functional theory calculations and Reax FF-based molecular dynamics simulations, which will enhance our atomistic understanding of non-aqueous liquid electrolytes of interest for next-generation battery technologies. The simulations will focus on ionic transport, electrolyte-electrode interactions, and aging mechanisms for different chemistries in metal-air battery systems. The project will be carried out in close collaboration with other CIC-based and international experimental partner laboratories and will aid the atomistic interpretation of novel solvation experiments and electrochemical measurements.

    CIC energiGUNE is looking for an experienced Post-doctoral Researcher to incorporate in the group of systems engineering and technology transfer in the thermal energy storage (TES) area.

    The research will be focused on modelling, designing and testing of a lab-scale thermal energy storage prototype, based on innovative latent heat storage technology for industrial processes. The final objective of the research is the development of advanced models and systems that can be implemented in a real industrial application.

     

     

    The research work will include the identification and selection of commercial PCM materials suitable for the application, the development of numerical models for a packed bed configuration, combining phase change in both the PCM and the heat transfer fluid and finally, the design, construction and testing of a lab-scale prototype, aimed to validate and improve the models and technology. The research will be developed in the frame of an industrial project so there will be opportunities to work close to the real application. The candidate will have the chance to work in a multidisciplinary environment composed by chemists, physicists and engineers, having the possibility to extend his/her knowledge approaching the research under different points of view.
